This piece is a substantial reworking of Cantilena (Op.11) – itself a salvaged song from the withdrawn opera Yellow Earth Ridge. The lyrics are by Pam Lambert.
The partsong is written for SSAATBB choir, with piano accompaniment, and suggests an escapism to a paradisiacal “land beyond the waterfall, where everything is Spring, forever green and lovely”.
